Formula Bot has been renamed Better Analyst and has grown into a data-analysis platform with dashboards and connected data sources. If what you actually wanted was the formula generator it started as, this page is that, free and without an account.

There is no account step to skip because there is no account. The box on this page is the working generator — describe your problem and press Generate.

Check it against one known row
Whichever tool you use, paste the formula and verify it against a row where you already know the answer. Language models are confidently wrong often enough that this habit is worth keeping.

Keep the other tool for what it does better
Switching is not all-or-nothing. If you need file uploads, saved history, or a spreadsheet add-in, the paid tools genuinely provide those and we do not. Use whichever fits the job.
Formula Bot became something bigger
The product now presents itself as Better Analyst: chat over your data, automated dashboards, connected data sources, AI actions measured in thousands per month. That is a genuinely more capable product than a formula generator, and priced accordingly.
It is also a different job. If you need a dashboard that refreshes from your warehouse, none of what follows applies and you should use theirs.
If you came looking for the thing that turned a sentence into a formula, that job has not changed, and it does not need an account or a monthly seat.
What we deliberately do not have
No connected data sources, no dashboards, no file uploads, no saved history, no team seats. Every one of those requires an account, and an account is the thing we decided not to build.
The consequence is worth stating plainly: we cannot see your data, so we cannot analyse it. We work from your description. Naming your columns in the prompt is what replaces the upload.
For a lot of spreadsheet work that is enough. You know what the column is called and what the cell should contain; you need the syntax.
The parts we did invest in
Four tools rather than one: formula generation, formula explanation, VBA, and regex targeted at the RE2 engine that Excel and Sheets actually run.
A reference library of 336 functions where each page states availability across Excel versions and Google Sheets, documents that function's real error modes, and embeds a generator scoped to it.
Answers that name their own failure modes. Every response ends with what will break the formula — locale separators, absolute versus relative references, ranges that stop short of next month's rows.

- Is Formula Bot gone?
- Renamed, not gone. As of 16 September 2026 formulabot.com redirects to betteranalyst.com, which states that existing accounts and workflows carry over. The formula generator is still part of it.
- What does Better Analyst cost?
- As listed on 16 September 2026: a limited free plan, then Starter at $20/month, Max at $40/month per user and Business at $80/month per user, with a first-month discount. Check their site before relying on those numbers — pricing moves.
- Can I analyse a whole spreadsheet here?
- No. There are no uploads and no data connections. This site generates and explains formulas, macros and patterns from a text description.
- Is there a catch to the free tier?
- The limit is 20 generations a day per IP, and there is no paid tier to sell you. The constraint is real cost per AI call, not a funnel.
- Does it work with Google Sheets?
- Yes. Every tool has an Excel / Google Sheets switch, and the answers differ accordingly rather than being translated afterwards.
